Worker’s FAQs

All Trades has a complete orientation program that will answer all of your questions when you come in to apply with us. However, here are the answers to some of the more commonly asked questions.

Can I apply Online? No. We need every applicant to apply in person so he/she may meet our staff, go through our orientation process, show us his/her identification and be interviewed.

What kind of work do you have? We specialize in the construction and manufacturing industries so we have all sorts of work for laborers and tradesmen in those industries. For example, in construction we need carpenters, form setters, concrete finishers, drywallers, electricians, plumbers, laborers, carpenter helpers, apprectices, and so forth. For manufacturing we need welders, fitters, shop helpers, fabricators, machine operators, machinists and so forth. We also provide workers to various related industries so we also need mechanics, maintenance men, handymen, landscapers, store fixture installers, assemblers and a wide variety of other types.

We will do our best to keep you as close to your home as possible or on public transportation routes. Many of our employees car pool.

How much do you pay? Our pay varies on the company, the job assignment, your skill, experience and tools as well as other factors. In general laborers start at $9.00/hour, semi-skilled workers start at $10 to $12.00/hour and skilled tradesmen start anywhere from $14 to $18.00/hour depending on the trade and their skill level.

How often do you pay? We pay daily or weekly.

How do I get paid? When you accept an assignment you will have a time card on which your hours that you work will be recorded. When you want to get paid you will need to present that card to our office and we will cut you a check.

Do I need tools? If you want to work in a specific trade then you will need tools for that trade.

Do I have to stay at a job I don’t like? No. You are required to finish the day but then we can replace you for the following day. You just need to tell us at the end of your shift that you do not want to return.

Do I have to go to your office to get work? No. Once you have completed the orientation and application process you may phone in for your assignments.

What do I do if I can’t go back to a job? Call our office at least one hour before your start time and notify us that you are not able to return to your assignment.

Can I find a permanent job? Many of our employees find permanent jobs through us. We have agreements with our customers that they are to use our employees for 360 hours before they hire them. After you have completed 360 hours of work for them you may then move to their payroll.

How much will I work in a week? That depends on many factors. The most important factor is how prompt and dependable you are and how hard you work. Also, much of it depends on your skill, transportation, attitude, willingness, weather and time of year. Many of our employees frequently work 40 hours or more a week.

How do I get job assignments? Either call into our office or come into the office. It is your responsibility to keep us informed of your availability for work.
